SFTYC Board Meeting
SFTYC board members have met fifteen times since May 2006, mainly to strategize, coordinate, and put into action related to the August 2006 NATYC Conference, fully confirmed to take place in Mc Laren Hall, the University of San Francisco on August 12 and 13 respectively. Our members keep regularly in touch through e-mails and phone calls. Teamwork is the spirit of the chapter and the strength that help materialize our plan. We take extreme seriousness and cooperatively dedicate to TYC projects. We believe that involving in TYC and social and political activism is a privilege and also a great way to achieve leadership skills, which is crucial for young Tibetans, who are the future leaders of Tibet.
The venue address is:
Mc Laren Hall (where Pun Anu Thanu was screened)
University of San Francisco
2130 Fulton Street
San Francisco, CA 94117
Fundraising Events
SFTYC has carried on many fundraising activities in the past several months. To meet the expense of high cost event like NATYC Conference, we have organized Nangma Traditional Tibetan Musical Show, sought donations from individuals, and sold Free-Tibet T-Shirts, shown movies on Tibet….
We take utmost attention when comes to spending the money for we realize that it is very precious. Yet, plans are underway which will help SFTYC raise funds beyond the current restricted zone.
Community Outreach
It is aimed at informing our local Bay Area Tibetan community the various political, social, and economic developments in and outside of Tibet that directly affect our lives.
Youth Leadership
TYC is an open platform for any Tibetan interested in serving the Tibetan struggle. When involving in it, team work is held supreme.
