Brief Report 1998

September 9th
President of Dharamsala-based Tibetan Youth Congress' Central Executive Committee, during his visit here, founded the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of the exile Tibetan Diaspora's largest youth organization. It was the eager responsiveness by the area's Tibetan youth population in particular and the Tibetan community here in general which made possible the realization of the Bay Area TYC chapter. And it is their unflinching support that continues to contribute towards this chapter's growth from strength to strength in carrying out its political and cultural activities.

October 7th
For the first time in Bay Area's history, the regional chapter here observed the Commemoration of the 29th year of the founding of the Tibetan Youth Congress, an endeavor made truly possible by the invaluable contribution from its then members.

December 10th
The Bay Area RTYC launched a peaceful protest to call for Tibetan freedom in front of the UN plaza San Francisco
