The new board members of the San Francisco Regional Tibet Youth Congress of 2009-2010 were presented with the opportunity to organize the New Year’s Eve party as their first ever event to work as a team. The event took place at a new hall in Oakland filled with talent shows and performances gated for groups of all ages.
SFRTYC invited Tsewang Rinzin la to San Francisco to brief on the detailed accounts of the “Special Meeting” organized by the Tibetan Government in Exile in Dharamsala, India. The community members participated well in discussions in regards to the future of Tibet and current needs to further the movement in this critical era.
Tsewang Rinzin of Portland, USA was elected the new President of the Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC), the largest Tibetan non-governmental organisation in exile, here at the concluding day of the 13th General.

The relay protest is drawing more and more sympathy from the peoples of San Francisco Bay Area. The number of protesters and veracity of the slogans are gaining momentum each day. “China Go Home,” shouted a senior Tibetan activist. The beat passed on, a young Tibetan chanted, “China lies, Tibetans die.”
Geary Street is known as the artery of San Francisco City traffic with tons of cars going both ways. The Chinese Consulate is just at in front of the Street where any protest is widely heard by every driver that passes by.
BERKELEY - Advocates for Tibet, which has been under Chinese domination for decades, will bring their cause to the attention of Bay Area residents this week in a series of protests and events in Berkeley and San Francisco, culminating with a rally at the Chinese Consulate in San Francisco and a candlelight vigil in the city's Union Square.
March 5th, Monday, marked the first day of “Countdown to March 10th”, a weeklong protest in front of the Chinese Consulate in San Francisco . “China must learn from history,” shouted one of the slogan-leader with a bullhorn, and within no time all the protesters followed him loudly.
