DEMAND FAIR TRIAL AND A HOLD TO THE EXECUTIONS

On April 17th from 12pm to 3:30 pm we gathered in front of the Chinese consulate in San Francisco to protest the recent events in Tibet where a number of Tibetans were either sentenced for life or sentenced to death without a proper trial or lawyer for last year’s arson case. Even with such short notice, roughly fifty Tibetans and supporters stood in front of the consulate and shouted slogans such as “stop the death sentences in Tibet” and “China the world is watching you”. Dechen Tsering, President of Tibetan Association of Northern California president along with SFRTYC president Tsering Dorje, and a representative of Amnesty International spoke to the crowd while many Tibetans in the crowd were handing out fliers educating the public on “taking action” to near passerby.
